How do I replace coolant temp. sensor?

I picked up my coolant temp sensor today, but I'm not sure how to install it. I don't even see where it is supposed to go. I'm sure someone else on the org knows.

Do you have a Haynes manual handy? It would be worthwhile to get one if you don't - especially for sensor locations etc.

From a previous post by DBM:

On the 4th Generation Maxima engine the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor is
located in the water outlet tube close to the engine end of the upper
radiator hose. There are two sensors in that vicinity. The one nearest the
hose is for the dashboard temperature gauge. The ECTS, the one you're
interested in, is adjacent to the the gauge sending unit. There is a good
picture of these sensors in the Haynes manual on page 3-7.

I just changed it today!

Look at the uppper radiator hose from the radiator where it goes into the engine.

Theres a metal tube where the hose connects into. Theres 2 sensors on the metal plate there, the bigger sensor closer to your firewall is the coolant sensor. To remove you need a deep socket, I think it was like 18 or 19mm.

Thanks for the replys. I don't have a haynes manual, but I think I should be able to figure it out.
