Ok tonight I was bored so I decided to take a look at my ECU diagnostic unit in case I ever want to reset my ECU or diagnose problems. I pulled off the black backing, removed the sticky directions, and looked for the screw. I didn't see it so I just got my screwdriver anyway. Upon closer examination I realized I have NO screw! What's going on here. The sticker had never been removed, so no one removed the screw, but it simply isn't there. Does anyone else have this? My car is a '99 and has been like every other 99 so far except for this. I went to Brian's site and looked at the picture, but I don't have that screw.

Any ideas?

Did you buy the car used? I dont think they ever come without those screws. Someone had to have taken it out. That all I can think of. Maybe im wrong though, hopefully someone else can help you out more!

I did buy my car used, but the sticker looked like it had never been removed. I've read a lot about the ECU unit, so I was looking forward to testing it out only to find I can't use it. My car has 32800 miles, so I guess I can see if I can get it replaced under warranty. I can't believe I'm the only one that can't run diagnostics on my ECU.

you have to look real good.. if you look at it .. it looks like just a hole.. but if you get a small flat head and work the plastic away you will see the groove in the circle..

do it in day light or bright light
