Low-pitched squeeling noise from left drive wheel (MTX)
I've noticed while driving between 2-15mph, there's a squeeling noise coming from my left drive axle/wheel assembly... I'm wondering if it's simply a bearing or something, or something inside of the transaxle, which scares me. Any ideas, possibilities, or common probs it could be?
Noise Description- it's not loud at all, just like a soft - "squeek squeek squeek" squeek, which speeds up upon acceleration.

Hmm... it's on straight road - I notice it when I'm driving in parking lots with buildings around that provide an echo effect... and just a real annoying squeeking sound - wish I knew where exactly it came from, just know it's coming from the left drivewheel, somewhere.

I have a similar problem but it isn't a "squeak, squeak, squeak," its a solid pitch squeal that rises and lowers in pitch depending on speed. I only hear it at slow speed like you said. I'm betting its the bearing, but as long as there is no play and it isn't any louder, I'll leave it alone. Anyone else have ideas? Everyone: This definitely has nothing to do with struts, this noise is clearly coming from something rotating in the wheel/hub area. Bouncing the car, turning the wheel, hitting bumps, etc., is irrelevant.
The only other thing I can think of is that the brake pads always slightly drag on the rotor surface, and in these cars this creates a noise or some kind of resonance. Just a theory.

Mine does the something similar, it's been doing it for at least a few months. I haven't tried taking a look at it yet. I only notice it when the windows are down and I'm driving slow, I think there is a little bit of the sound also when going over speedbumps but bouncing the struts doesn't reproduce the sound either though, braking doesn't effect it at all.

yeah everyone has it on the passenger side wheel, mine only happens if theres cars parked around me and its night time, if i have my windows rolled down ill hear it once i start going slow or hit my brakes to go slower, At times if i hit my brakes hard enough and start off again the noise goes away. I read something it could be the brake shield behind the rotor it may be bent, but i checked mine out it seems perfect to me. So im confused as hell.

Gentlemen, all of you have symptoms of failed wheel bearing. I have just replaced mine. Bearing is around 20-30 bucks and you can take apart your wheel hub and take it to the shop to have it replaced for another 20-30 bucks (it requires press). Or the whole job will cost circa 100 bucks.
