Bad oil leak

Here's the story, I was having my basic electronics teacher check out my door lights to see why dont they work, after him looking at everything he said it was a bad ground wire. So I move out my car from the shop to the parking lot. Some of my classmates said that there was a huge pile of oil under my car. It looked very fresh since my oil is only 1500 miles old. So i get worried and pull out my flashlight, get on the ground look under the car and I didnt notice anything. i said no way im leaking. Note that my car was sitting for about 45 min. I get home, after a 30 min highway drive from school. I go and say hi to my parents and tell them i might have a small leak. So I go back outside to put some towels on the ground so that in the next morning i will find out. I move my car back and what do i see... A hugggee puddle of oil! it was warm and fresh and i knew it came from my car. So im like AHHHHHHHH WTF... So i go back inside and tell my parents yup my car is once again screwed.. So guys Im bring it to a lift tomorrow 1st thing. By chance do you guys have any idea where massive amounts of oil came from? Should i take a risk and drive far? Ive just about had it with repairing this car. Just the summer alone $1,000 went into repairing things that just all of a sudden broke.. Thanks for reading this hope to see some helpful replies.

Ok heres the update just for everyone to know. If you are a 5-speed you might get confused on tranny fluid and engine oil. I have a bad seal/gasket on the drive side CV shaft which enters into my tranny. Fuild is leaking out from there and its pretty bad. Im getting fixed 1st thing tomorrow morning. I guess nissan messed it up when they put in new CV shafts. So just a heads up if this happends to anyone else.

Fairly common problem. BUT you should ask the mechanic to grab the CV right where it enters the tranny and try to move up/down. If it moves more than 3-4 mm, you tranny's bearings are going out.

thanks for the heads up, ill tell them about it. One question if they take out my shaft and gasket wouldnt all the fuild drain out? if so whats that awsome tranny fuild everyone talks about? it makes shifting smoother, i think its synthetic yet again I could be wrong.

You drain the fluid before you yank the cv out. Yes you are correct in all your questions. Redline/Amsoil in GL-4 specification
