faster: 5th gen(auto) or 4th gen(auto)?

I believe you, Maxima 5 speeds are so much better then the autos. With my 97 SE 5 speed I beat my dads 2002 SE auto to 60MPH everytime and that is supposed to be faster then the 01's (less power) and 04's (heavier). He would probably beat me on the highway. Does anyone else feel like Nissan is just making up HP and TQ numbers nowadays because it sure doesnt feel like my dads max has 65 more HP and 35 more TQ?

experience, but as someone pointed out some motors are stronger than others and as most people know and assume there are other variables involved.

and im sure that results will vary.

rereading my post id like to clarify that i am speaking of the 5th gen auto dek and the 4th gen auto de which i believed were the engines talked about in the first post.

a 4th gen auto with y pipe intake will get crushed by a 5.5 gen auto(im my experience)
