Are they after market belts or Nissan belts? I had this same problem with aftermarket belts done on the cheap...sloppy job. I took my 97 Max to the Nissan dealership and asked them to put on Nissan belts and do the job right. They did.

May need to be put on a little tighter. If they are tight, then what I do sometimes is get a candle, with the engine running (watch your fingers) rub the candle against the moving belts to give them a coating. Do this to both belts and the squealing should go away.

The wax is not slippery and will not hinder performance, they will actually feel like they have more grip.

But check the tension first, that's most likely the problem.

gates belts are the best. if you have them on there already they need tightened. if you have some aftermarket belt...replace it w/ a gates belt and have the tension set to spec. btw Gates is the name of the company and i think they make the factory belt that you would get from nissan dealership anyway.

yes i beleive they are and the belts will stretch a lil bit needing more tension

just adjust the tensioner. it's real simple and taking to a shop is not necessary.

I had belts put on a few years back and they squeeled pretty good at start-up, I took my car to the dealership and they just adjusted them slightly and that was all it took.
