95 maxima trouble starting in cold ...
hi, i have a 95 maxima and when i leave the car outside in the cold it has trouble starting up. I have to give it some gas other wise when i start the car the rpms go to 3k and then drops down to 0 and turns off. Does anyone know how to fix this or what might cause the problem? It only does it in the cold if i leave it in the garage and then try to start it it works perfect.
is there anyway to be sure ? Its possible its the battery too right ? http://photobucket.com/albums/v374/DcMaN341
Yes still laugh at the silver spraypaint im in the process of taking it all off
. Also what should the idle be set to on a 95 maxima ? Mine is at about 600 right now after warm.

I don't have my Haynes in front of me - but I believe you can test the sensor. Unfortunately, sometimes sensors pass the bench tests, but still end up faulty. You don't state the year or mileage - but if no recent maintenance has been done on the car - it might be worthwhile to do some of the routine items (plugs, filters, etc.). The fact that your problem is only present during a cold start suggests it is likely your ECTS.
I actually just replaced the air filter on the car. Plugs and such may not have been done. Since i bought the car used just a few weeks ago. I have a 95 maxima GXE with 111 k miles on it.Also what should the idle be set to ? mine is at about 600 right now after warm.
