Clutch Adjustment Question

Finally I am a driving member of the Maxima.org crew again! After 3 tranny replacements I finally got a 2k in my 4th gen that works. Also the new ClutchNet Clutch is AWESOME - my only question is a have a TON of play in my clutch pedal now - The useful portion of the clutch is from the floor (engaged) to 2-3 inches off the floor (disengaged) and that leaves 4-5 inches of nothing...any way to adjust this?

Thanks guys!!

Did you bleed the clutch hydraulics?

It had to be asked. The most common reason why the clutch pedal would be low would be air in the system somewhere. Think about it, did you have to adjust the old clutch as the lining wore down? Probably not. Why should your replacement be any different? If anything, you would think the pedal would be higher since the clutch lining is thicker now than before you changed it.

I assume you know that there are two places that the clutch gets bled. Other than that, inside the cabin, the clutch pedal is attached to the master cylinder rod w/ a clevis pin. That rod is adjustable. Loosen the locking nut and then turn the rod in or out. Hope that helps. Is there any advice you'd give to someone thinking about doing this swap? Thanks.

If you didn't open the clutch lines, I wouldn't think about air in the lines. All you have to do is adjust the clutch pedal. There is a rod coming out from the floorboard that attaches to the pedal. You need to loosen the lock nut to the pedal and then turn the rod so it inserts into the pedal assembly to make take up happen closer to the floor. I had to do this to my Exedy OEM and now it starts to grab 1" off the floor.

I looked inside my car and the "metal cable" doesn't attach to my clutch pedal. It's mounted into the floor and when I put in the clutch it pushes it in. On mine that cable only sticks out for less than an inch.
