Question with quick starts and CEL

Well today when I was doing a quick start (going between 1 and .5k before redline on first 3 gears or so), I felt like the rev meter was lagging a bit as it went up to the higher rpm's. I got concerned, and did another hard start, and this time the CEL came on and flashed for a good 10 seconds or so.

Is this a problem, is this normal? Hmm. I don't really drive my car hard too much, just every now and then I'll do a quick start like this.

perhaps a cylinder misfire.....check coilpacks

Flashing must mean something specific because normally it will just come on a be solid. Anybody know what a flashing CEL means? If the light is still on you should check the codes.

Why are people so afraid of reading the faqs?

Read the faq titled "ECU fault code diagnosis ("HELP! MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON!!")"...doesn't get any simpler than that.
