Axle Installation Q's

I am about to put in new axles and belts (non abs and non lsd) in my 95 SE and I was wondering if there was anything that I needed to know before I started to watch out for? What else should I do while I have the wheels and all the other parts off the car? I am currently at 150K.

Thanks!

Frank

The castle nut that holds the axle onto the hub is very tight, you'll need an impact gun to get it off. Disconnect the lower strut mount so the hub and rotor can swing out to give you room to get the axle out. The driver side usually comes out with just a pry at the transmission. The passenger side needs to be pryed at the jurnal bearing after you loosen the 3 bolts in the middle of the shaft. It's a PITA take your time.

only thing that you really need is the 36mm socket for the axle nuts and some serious leverage to get them off. you should change the tranny oil since half of it will come out when you pull the axle anyway. and remember that you should get an alignment done after the new axles are in.
