Ok.... how about thy Hayes or Chiltin <- sp? manuals? Do they do a good job of walking through belt changes?

Yes. Buy a Haynes Manual.

Best $15 you can spend on your car.

Haynes manuals are ok, but they lack a serious level of detail, and don't have enough photos. I'm curious about this myself, because I went to change my belts last winter and could only do the main one, I couldn't get to the bolts holding the power steering pump. As a result, I still have the same worn belt on the power steering pulley...

Maybe it'll be easier to do now that I have a Y pipe and the pre-cats are gone?

It's much easier to do with an aftermarket Y.

You can put a couple of long extensions and a universal joint on a ratchet and go over the Y-pipe from the driver's side all the way across and up to the PS pump bolt.

Do some research Noob. i can see why alot of the senior guys on here get pissed. Google is an excellent tool. If your planning on owning your maxima for a while i would advise to donate to the org so you can search its worth it.
this informtaion was taken from www.greghome.com if you had searched google you would have found it.
