Front end sound
Front end sound
I've got a 96 GXE. Lately, when I'm making low speed turns, like turning from one road to another, there is a constant clunking sound coming from the driver's side wheel area. Could this be bad CV joints? It does it when I am on the gas or coasting. Thanks.
Maybe the CV is still salvageable if it is only making occasional clunking at low speed hard cornering...? Clean up, new boot and repack grease...?
If it is making a clicking clunking all the time then it is probably more screwed.

You will have to pin point the area of concern yourself . . . .
If it only happens while you are making a turn - cv joints.
If it happens everytime you drive even over the smallest bumps - ball joint, strut mount.
If it happens while straightening the steering wheel after a turn - strut mount, strut bearings
