No power when accelerating????

When I start accelerating it seems like I do not have the same power that I did before. Car miles is 74,000. Does anyone know what can be causing this? any ideas??

Most likely the knock sensor ... check for CEL codes.

I have not done any MODS to the car.
How much is the knock sensor, and where can I get one cheap? Is this a hard task to do myself? Can the loss of acceleration be from bad spark plugs?? I am really clueless at this point. I need some help.

Don't just replace the KS. Check your codes. It's about $100 and is very doable. How many miles do you have? A general tuneup probably isn't a bad idea if it's been awhile.

Make sure the engine is cool before changing the KS.

Have you had a tuneup done before? (Plugs, air filter, fuel filter, PCV valve, clean TB, etc.)

I have the same problem, would a bad knock sensor trigger SES light on?

No. The KS triggers no lights, but if you check the CEL codes it will be there. And knock sensor replacement is not hard with the right pivoting socket and extension.
