Want to buy ignition coil set for 99 Maxima
Want to buy ignition coil set for 99 Maxima
Recently the Service Engine Soon light comes up on my 99 Maxima GXE.
A mechanic did a scan and the code is P0301: misfire detected, Cylinder #1.
He told me that I need to replace at least one ignition coil and best of all,
all 6 ignition coils, which is very expensive. My internet research indicates that that's a common problem for all 4th generation Maxima and it's relatively easy to
replace ignition coils DIY.
Has anybody done this before? Where can I get a good price for the parts/ignition coils? Somebody said I might be able to buy a set below $300.
But where? Any recommendations?

Replacing the coils is easy to do. Agree , replace all six, else you'll be changing another coil soon or worse (having a misfire without any codes, not knowing which coil it is). I bought mine from Courtesy Nissan for around $56 a piece. Received the Mitsibushi ones and haven't had any problems since installing them about 1 year ago.
