Breaking in an act stage 2

Ok, so i just put in an act stage 2 and an unorthrodox flywheel, and i have to say it totally kicks ***. But i dont want to beat on it cause i heard there is a 300 to 500 mile break in period. Can some one explain to me what not to do while u are breaking it in. (can u gun it when it is already in gear?) and so on..... thanks

wow, why are you running a STAGE 2?!? But anyways, just baby it, dont gun it or anything like that. I believe you should also keep the shifts below 3500rpm as well....

Oh, and unless your tranny is BUILT, prepare to dish out for a new tranny as the stage 2 will demolish it very shortly....

Just be gentle with the engagement of the clutch. Take it easy, you'll know when the clutch has broken in.

Just giving an update, just had my uncle who works at nissan take a look at my tranny for kicks. 20,000 miles later with an act stage 2 clutch and 95,000 on the car, STILL NO SIGNS OF TRANNY WEAR!!!! I think all of the people who told me that a stage 2 will kill my tranny real quick need a few lessons on driving a manual car.

topelement, very impresive. wish i had that kinda setup and it does have mostly to do withthe driver unless its a manufacture failure defect or something. my friend drove liek a fool with his sct stage 2, and broke it all.

I've got a quick question to add here... I just brought a 5 speed and dunno but i think it has an aftermarket clutch, the owner told me he replaced it but i never asked with what, i assumed oem but i've noticed this clutch is pretty grabby. I've only dropped it once (by accident actually, first 5 speed i've owned) and that was at about 3.5k and it grabbed and roasted my tires... So basically i'm asking is there a way to tell if you have aftermarket clutch without looking at it? It does funny things like when i roll off the throttle in second gear going fairly slow (under 20 mph) without touching the clutch it surges alittle, not the rpms just the car like somethings grabbin. I drive cars all day cause i'm a valet and i've noticed that BMW's do this also <shrug>. So anyone wanna give me some insite? Sorry for jacking the post

slowing down when you let of the throttle = engine braking
believe me, you can give the tires a pretty nice roast from a 3k launch on the oem clutch. I've done it many times...
In fact, you can get some tire spin if you let off too fast at basically any rpm. I get tire spin sometimes if I let it off too fast at 2k.
I don't really see why people feel the need to an aftermarket clutch, besides that it might last longer under hard abuse.
