Oil Light - HELP!!!

I changed my oil recently and just today, my oil light comes on and fades away. I had my water pump changed yesterday and don't know if that has anything to do with it. I took my car into the shop where i got the oil changed and they said that the oil level was a bit high. Could that be a reason why the light is coming on? The guy said that because the oil was hot, he didn't want to remove any just in case and said that I should wait until the car is cold to check out the level. Has this happened to anyone?

Uhh what kinda places do you goto? If they cant do a simple oil change then I suggest you go elsewhere, and if its too high I dont see why they couldnt take some out????? Im sure they dont wait till the car gets cold when there doing an oil change, I dont see whats the difference??

Also the oil light means oil pressure, not how much oil you have..

Its 'normal' for the light to flicker right when you start your car..

Alot of members here have reported that. If its flickering while you're driving then you have other problems.
