Guys I have a question and I know you dont want to hear about racing and such but what is a good launch rpm for an auto. Should i manualy do it from 1st to 2nd then drive or do you have a better way.
when i drove my automatic integra, i used to rev to 3000 and kick it into 1st gear then 2nd then Drive then Sport mode. car was fast with all the mod i did but i also went through 2 transmission in 2 years. each transmission cost over $1000 to fix/replace. not worth it anymore with my maxima.

sorry.
on a serious note how to race an automatic and i quote JIME on this one.
"leave it in D, brake and rev to 1k when you see the second yellow/orange let off the brake and floor it"
this method has gotten him the fastest automatic maxima in the 1/4...
reving to 3k is really unneeded and at least in my auto if i rev to 3k and drop it i just smoke my tires...
also going from 1 ->2 -> D is sloooowww. automatic trannys can shift faster then a 5speed. why would you want to lose a gear and then manually shift untill you get into 3rd?
for daily driving the vb upgrade is awsome imo and a must for any modified auto max.
if you just want to shift firm at the track use a DR switch.
Dont think you can rev to 3K on our autos... I believe it goes up to 2K..
1000 works like a charm, 1200 has worked well but that was on different tires..
Anything higher on a properly maintained max will give you wheel spin..
