Abs Issue?

Is is typical for the Anti lock bracks to malfunction? Im asking because After start up, my light stays on as if there is a problem. I've heard of the ABS light NOT coming on at all, but is it probable that there is a malfunction? or could there be a fuse/sensor issue (I.E service engine soon on some cars)?

well in my expierence i had my abs light on for like a year and even though it said to fix it when i had to hit the brakes it still didnt lock up id say that u are ok
the only thing is you have to have a yellow light on for ever :P
if u can deal with it than youre ok just think of it as another shift light hehe

If your ABS light stays on, that means the system has failed a diagnostic check.

Your problem could be anything from a bad connection to a wheel speed sensor (cheap to fix) to a faulty ABS control unit (very expensive to fix). To find out what is wrong, the factory service manual explains how to get the ABS system to flash a diagnostic code using short and long pulses of the ABS light.

In this situation, you will have conventional brakes, but the ABS system will be disabled until the system is repaired.
