Good Smelling AC
I read somewhere that if your Heater or AC smells bad that you can pur lysol on the black vent thing, right below the wipers, and turn your AC on to grab the airf rom the outside and this will fix the problem...
Is this true? Just sounds weird and false. If the vents are made to drag in air from the outside not liquid wouldnt this harm it?

I believe its in the heater core where you spray to get the bad smell out, and thats usually due to mold that has built up in their, the car must have been sitting a while for mold to build up in there. But yes if you were to spray something that smells good it would fill you car with that smell, it wouldnt last that long but it would be good, epseciallyt if your doing something special with a lady, add a nice touch to the night, the small things can sometimes go a long way . . .

That black thing under the windshield is NOT THE HEATER CORE. Your spraying lysol into the air intake where your car sucks up air for the A/C or heat. It does work, what happens is mold builds up in there and starts to smell. Turn your blower on high and spray a bottle of lysol in there... just remember to keep your windows open less you want to disinfect your nostrils.

You need a product specifically designed for the job if you really want the problem to go away. Try something like this:

The dealer may also have a similar product, because this is a problem with lots of cars. You may want to try turning off the a/c a few minutes before you arrive at your destination. This while allow the fan to blow air over the a/c evaporator and help dry it out. Shutting down the car with a sopping wet a/c evaporator promotes mold growth, which is what causes this smell.
