Just cleaned throttle body

Recently my car runs a little jerk in first gear. Today I cleaned the throttle body. The car runs more smoothly in first gear. I find that the idle speed is around 850rpm now, before I clean the throttle body the idle speed is around 600rpm. Is it normal?

96,5 speed. Even when the engine is warm, the car sometimes gets jerk in first gear. Cleaning the throttle body is not difficult. I use less than an hour to do it. The throttle body is pretty dirty. After cleaning I feel a little bit better. Next I plan to change spark plug, coolant, and fuel filter myself.

I saw this thread and didn't have anything to do this afternoon.

There is some weird hesitation around 3100-3500rpm in 3rd gear at 1/2 throttle. Claning the TB seemed like a good start.

Wow that was easy. All you do is pull off the intake for a second, blast TB with cleaner, and wipe up all the bs off the butterfly plate and housing so it can open unobstructed. Finished in 5 minutes, so I was actually waiting on my K&N to dry before test-driving.

Something to note: The intake manifold is dirtier than a mother! I shined the flashlight in there and it's nothing but black sludge.

The first 10 mile run I couldn't really tell a difference because I was running open loop at WOT, so the plate was open most of the time. :halo:

After taking some vids, I headed out to autozone. The car does seem to respond a l i t t l e bit faster than before.

What did I get at autozone, you ask? $50 worth of lights, and a can of seafoam for the intake manifold.

Here is before, during, and after pics of throttle body cleaning. The black ring around the butterfly plate on "before" is carbon & oil, not a shadow:
