B-pipe

Hi. Have a question.
Aftermarket b-pipe - does it give any power? And who makes good ones?
Maybe better is stock one? Help please.

Nope. Maybe if you're boosted and need a 3" diameter piping, it will give gains but if you stay 2.25" or 2.5", don't expect anything. GReddy and Cattman both make quality b-pipes.

So, to get more power only 3" pipe will help.

To get more power, you will need 3" piping and forced induction . 3" piping on your N/A car will be pretty much useless.

Since when does a b-pipe not free up any horsepower? I missed that memo.

I bought a stainless steel 2.5" b-pipe from budget exhaust. Very nice quality and finish.

The only problem was it was a little too long so they cut an inch out of it while putting on the exhaust (no charge, it took all of 2 minutes). Also got new muffler & axle piping, so that didn't help fitment.

The butt dyno registered the same as when I put my y-pipe on. I totally wasn't expecting ANY gain performance-wise. But it undeniably at least improved throttle response - the car feels much snappier. Sounds good, and most importantly... no more rust falling all over my driveway.

i dont think there is enough restriction in the b pipe to make a difference in anything but sound. unlike the y pipe, i dont think that there is any power to be gained with just adding a b pipe

He gained 6 WHP, and 7 ft/lbs by adding a b-pipe. Not a huge increase, but I guarantee you will feel it.

The b-pipe will increase hp. However, I dont think the cost of the extra 5 or so hp is reasonable unless you install it yourself( or cheap connection).

If you consider a power adder anything over 20 HP, all you're left with is FI. 5HP is respectable and if you consider 5HP for a few things you add on, that's like 20-30HP from bolt ons. That's something you can't spit at.
