Why do you even want to bother with that crap.... your power gains are gonna put your driveability right in the shi**er!!

I am "bothering" with asking about the headers so that I might not regret making an expensive purchase. Driveability of my car is very important to me, as most of my mods are for handling (with the exception of my damned steelies!). Though i have immense respect for boosted max's, Id prefer to put 330 or so horses to the pavement in a more stable fasion with an APR stage III+ A4 quattro, or a SCed 92-97 325i. But your point about the cams' creating enough power to is unclear to me as is the answer to the lingering question of camshaft power gains . JWT cams give 7-15hp I believe . What about Nismo's twice as costly cams? Or are you just being sarcastic about the gains from cams? LOL, I dont know! i have no clue how good these Nismos are. I'm 12 shots and 2 blunts deep from earlier trying to research Maximas at 4:30 A.M. Well, im off to bed. Peace

What he means is that JWTs cams severely hurt low end power which is already the downfall of autos. The few people who have bothered with JWT cams on this website, inlcuding a member named cumalot if you want to PM him personally, found this to be unacceptable. He said the high end gains were nice, but the low end loss was too great, and thus he was slower in the 1/4 mile. He took them out like a week after he put them in if I remember correctly.

There are other more complicated cam options, and Tomei I believe has VQ30DET cams which will work in the maxima, however since these are turbo cams they probably have alot less overlap than you would want for an NA motor with aftermarket cams. VQ35 cams can be made to work, but it does require extensive customization, check out the all motor forum for more details on that.

I was thinking about cams myself for a bit until I decided that to me, they weren't worth it and so I bought a turbo.
