Raised idle with AC/Heater on.

I know the idle raises within 100-200 RPMS with the heater or AC on. But the other day i noticed with my heater on (manual setting number 1) that when i parked my idle was almost @ 1k RPMs! Is that normal? If not what could be causing this issue?

Was the car 100% warm?

Most of the time it is normal. When my engine is warmed up and the AC/heater is on the rpms jump to about 900.

OT: Kevlo nice!! Didn't notice that you had done the 00iv swap.

Yup yup - the AC and front defroster kick mine up to almost 1k, but pushing warm air on the other vent controls does not.

I don't think its normal with just the heater, at least my idle doesn't change (I have a 5speed). I believe the idle speed is increased to get the belt driven compressor to its job. To my knowelege the compressor should not be on when you are just using your heater so your idle shouldn't change. I would assume you have either bad relay or switch. You should look under the hood and see if the compressor is on when just your heater is on.

NOTE: I am not an A/C, deforst, heater expert which means everything I just said were just assumptions...

thats normal.... my problem is, when the heater reaches its temp and kicks off, my RPMS dive down to 4-500
