Best way to accelerate with A/T?
#1
I just started driving a few weeks ago and I need to know what is the best way to accelerate with my 97 GLE from a complete stop. I've heard from people to try revving the engine in neutral to about 2000 RPMS and then going into drive but I don't know if that is bad for the car or not. Thanks.

That is horrible to your auto tranny Never put it into gear at anything but idle. Just try flooring it and letting it shift by itself. Or youn could manually shift the car if you concentrate on the rpms. When they swing to about 6100, shift into second. I get consistent 7.3-7.5 second 0-60 times by doing this. The autos tend not to be too much faster than this stock.

If you do it that way, you can kiss your transmision good-bye. Simply apply your foot to the peddle and that should be sufficient Seriosly though, you'll destroy your tranny in no time flat if you go that route.
