Funny part no shop would touch it unless the insurance company sent them another $2k which would make the car totaled but the insurance company would send them the $2k anyway without totaling the car. Anyway, be carefull of what the INS company *******s do.

My car should have been totalled as well. By the time the repairs were done, the bill exceeded 80% of the car's value. In retrospect I'm glad they DIDN'T total it because the repair was done so well and the car is paid off, but in a situation like yours, the trunk may never close properly, may leak, etc.

Also, you really should get checked out to be sure. Injuries can really pop up later on. My back is severely f-ed up from an accident ... slipped disc.

i saw that shiet happen before. i was driving infront of this honda(ehem) he feels like he's a racer or somethin and he was goin fast.(prolly was intimidated by MY max) but then he was on the phone at the same time... after that; he rear ended the guy infront. he was slowing down to turn left but the stupid honda wasn't paying attention. the crash was crazy. i pulled over to see if they were ok and i called 911. i looked at the other car it was a olive green max. the back was destroyed man. like the trunk went into the freakin backseat. but you should see hondas when they crash. they needed the jaws of life to take that dude out. stpid. Sorry bout your car bro. good thing you were safe.

In Chicago, with all-state at least the repairs must be 100% or more of the car's value to be totalled. If I did go through with the repairs, they would be equal to about 133%.

Ive said it already except that i cant store the car, im willing to sell it entirely cheap and whoever wants it could part it out. The car drives perfectly as if nothing happend, its a 5spd too for all you conversion seekers. I can deliver it within 300 miles north or south of NYC for a reasonable fee.

Jeff- in order to sue for medical damages, you must first undergo months of physical therapy which i would like to do except at first they bill my insurance company and then my insurance company must go after the company of the party at fault. I do not want to bring this accident into the face of my company or make any claims against them as i really do not wish to raise my premiums any higher.

A medical claim should not raise your insurance, especially if in the eyes of the insurance company you are not at fault. If your insurance company does that, I suggest trying to find a better one. Of course if you were named as "at fault" in this accident, your rates will go up. They will not go up any higher just because you made a medical claim, it would be because it's a chargeable accident.

GET PHYSICAL THERAPY. Pinched nerves are a big deal resulting in shooting pains and slipped discs suck long after PT is over. Get money ... pay your medical bills and an extra $5000 in savings so you can pay for a massage once a week when you're 28.
