Must be nice to have some time to work on your car. I've been wanting to work on my car and the last 2 weekends have been raining out here. I gotta do the pillar mod and fix one fog lamp. And hopefully if I get my GR2's, I'll put that in too.

There's a dyno in here comparing stock vs. frankencar hybrid intake (with midpipe, I think) and there's a noticeable loss (in dyno) in HP/TQ with the hybrid setup. Butt dyno, not sure if you can feel the difference, I probably won't. Having the midpipe will only give you more noise at WOT. Not sure if you've seen that, its in a thread somewhere in the 4th gen forum.
Doesnt really loose power, mostly just moves it somewhere else on the graph. ALthough i HAVE seen these dynos, i have to argue a bit.

Did i get you thinking on how you can improve your setup with my mid-pipe ideas? lol...

whats your midpipe idea? No pictures today, sorry. I have everything back together but I wanted to take some pictures. Haha I didn't put the rear header on, I hve the stock one on. I was getting so tired and frustrated with the firts one I didn't want to do the rear. The rear one look easy except I probally have to cut off the heat shield and one of the nuts is right in front of the rear motor mount!!! Thats going to be a ***** to get off so I don't want to mess with it. Pictures will come tomorrow and hopefully when I start it it doesn't act goofy.

Knowing you I should've figured that out. You're not gonna use a midpipe are you? Then again I noticed that on a 5spd there is no difference between a midpipe and the stock square resonator.

sweet, show me pictures, haha. Ill give you some tips with the dremel if you need help. I'll post pictures on monday, I have my midpipe on now. I couldn't find all the hardware for the stock intake but I found it now, but for some reason I think I have a 5th gen bendable rubber thing that connects to the throttlebody because its way bigger, it must of come from my VI box.

The stock location will always be better. Nissan engineers designed it this way. Cold air comes in through the scoup and straight to the filter, instead of sucking up the high engine area temps. Only problem with the stock intake system is they didnt want to make it LOUD as hell. Looking to satisfy all markets. So they gave a thinner intake plumming and a restrictive filter.

The best soltion would be to upgrade the plumming going to the airbox, and do the filter in the box teh same exact way he did. This will suck up all the colder air AND increase the total volume/velocity of air coming in. Or, you can simply throw in a drop in K&N into the stock airfilter housing and upgrade the plumming thereafter as well. Either way, this is the BEST WAY to increase total power output.

My 2 cents.....
