My 95 SE and now my 96 SE has very tight stearing in the morning when it is first started up. It loosens up quickly. It feels much like there is no power stearing.

Could he power stearing pump be going out? it works fine after a second, even before I get out of the driveway.

Do I need to change the power stearing fluid? it is full

Is there a valve or something in the power stearing system that may have failed allowing fluid to drain out of the system and requiring a second or two to reprime the system?

Thanks in advance

Is there any noise coming from the engine bay? My old car had this, but was accompanied by a very loud screeching noise (you would definitely notice it). It was the belts.

that happens w/ my honda sometimes when its really cold - i think the cold causes the power steering fluid to become more "viscous" as it were or thick and then when ive been driving for a little while it loosens up

No Noise and as others have stated it only happens in the morning (fresh start) and its worse when its cold outside.

I'll check the belts and the fluid. I think there is a desciption on motorvate for changing the fluid. I'll probably try that if I don't find a loose belt or low fluid.
