ECU Question.
I recently got the Technosquare ECU w/o a raised limiter. I just wanted to know how long it would take for the ECU to fully work or can you feel the difference right away? I was also wondering if the new upgraded ECU will change my gas mileage? And also what performance should I expect from the ECU?

There will be no change in fuel mileage.
Personally, I felt minimal difference (butt dyno) between stock and the first TS ecu I had. Back to back dynos (stock vs TS) is the only way to verify the gains, if any.
He bought the ecu from me. BTW got your email too.
No change in mpg unless you wot all around town cuz it didn't effect closed loop, only open. To me it just reved smoother and a little quicker, I do have other mods too ie flywheel and pulley. so that would affect the way the car ran. Also I have a JWT now and it doesn't affect my mpg either.

thanks for the tip peoples. my next mod im planning for now is the MEVI and when that happens, im gonna send the ECU to Technosquare to get the extended rev limiter.
they still haven't figured out the extended rev limiter...they say they have...but not one person so far besides cheston has successfully had their rev limit raised...and that is with a good amount of time looking at a JWT chip to compare code so they could figure it out...but still couldn't for some reason...

ask for Brian....when you call them...and oh, if you talk to him...ask him to finish re-modding my ecu and send it back to me (Michael Nyden '95 maxima) cause it's been over 2 weeks now...this is ridiculous!!!

Just make sure you have an extra ECU so your car isn't useless until they finally send it back.

Just think abou it!!

The daughter board that is added to the stock ECU only comes into play in open loop mode, which is somewhere around 50% thottle. Don't know for sure but it is not just WOT.
The gains are right away. None of this ECU learning stuff you migh have read.
Gas mileage will be dependant on your driving habits, not the ECU. Actually, it could be better in theory since the A/F ratio is leaned out.
10-15 lbs of torque through most of the power band from 3K and up. A solid .3 gain or so in the 1/4 mile

Are you sure about the $500 quote for the ecu? I looked on their website and saw no mention of it. If it is on sale this month, I will absoluetly buy one, I have been waiting for some kind of a deal for a while, and since I just got a MEVI, this is a crucial upgrade.
Where did you see this sale??

But the gains were certainly nowhere near as substantial with the first ecu I got from TS. On that one, I measured the timing advance at barely 2 degrees above stock and could not "feel" any gains. Plus, no extended rev limiter.
Wow, for $595 I was expecting to see gains of at least 20 HP plus the rev limiter not being raised, and the advanced timing only at 2 above stock. This seems like a horrible waste of money. Might as well spend it on someting else.
I was really looking to get one but this thread makes me think twice. I saw the dyno, but with the inconscitancy between ecus from the SAME company..... thats just sketchy.
