Best matching 97-99 Red/Clears on the market?

Hi guys,

Well I just bought a 99 Maxima SE on Saturday. Let the modding begin!!!

My first free mod will be to remove the Eibach stickers and the mudflaps. LOL

My first pay mod will be red/clear tailights.

Money aside, who has the best matching red/clears? After searching this forum, reading various threads, and surfing the internet, no tailights are perfect. Ange claims hers are near identical. Is she the best to go with? Or?

So, I would like to know, who makes the best and are the closest?

Thanks in advance for your input.

James

Are the mudflaps OE from Nissan?

I wouldn't mind taking them if you don't want them.

thanks.

I have seen some ones that are close but not quite perfect. Home made ones normally aren't perfect either but you can get it close.

Custommaxima.com's match. My friend just got them on his Maxima. I have the older ones that don't match as well, but they changed them now and the clear piece is almost identical to the amber piece. You may be able to buy them cheaper on eBay or something though.

Good Luck!

Same thing happened with me when buying from symmic, It's actually a shop, not just some guy. I called them 3 times and they sent me new ones in a much bigger box with more padding and they arrived mint. Still have the broken ones too

I think symmic must have gotten better since your incident. Last month I got mine from symmic off of ebay for $44US. I had minor cracks on the bottom edge from shipping. They offered to replace them as long as I returned them but my cracks were so minor that I just glue-gunned the pieces.

nothing is better than OEM with the clear part from the aftermarket ones inserted. But like anyone will go that far.

Thanks for the reply guys!!

Ant96GLE, are you implying you did yours yourself? They look nice. Any daytime closeup pics?

To those of you you have commented about "Symmic" on ebay, I've seen those and was skeptical about them. Thanks for your advice/comments.

Soulfly, lookin' good! Any daytime closeup pics?

98MikeXimaSE, how do you know Ange and Custommaxima buy from the same company? Word of mouth? or?

Thanks.

I did because the outer trim of the aftermarket ones was a bit darker than the OEM trunk one. It might not be as bad if you have a dark car but since mine isn't dark you could tell right away that the outer lamp was a very dark color on the trim.

EXACTLY! the aftermarket ones have a different boarder. Its cool that you acctually did this, I know I would have if I wanted red clears. And OEM Nissan Koito is still on the lense!
