cold = problems

i have couple of problems with my 97 - auto. First, the hood wont stay up. I guess the hydrolics aren't holding them up anymore. What can i do to keep my hood up?

Second, when it gets really cold and I start my engine, my steering wheel gets really hard to move. And if I do move it, it makes a squeeling sound (like a belt). It goes away after the car is warmed up. Can my power steering pump belt be messed up?

Third, where the heck is the drivebelt?! I tried looking for it tonight but couldn't find it. Do I have to remove some parts to get it?

Thanks for all your help!

what do you mean by drivebelt? There are two belts on the passanger side of the engine block and they can be seen without moving anything. There is also a timing chain which is enclosed on the passanger side as well.
