ARE BOMZ CAI AND OTHER EBAY CAI'S "TRUE" COLD AIR INTAKES????????????

i'm thinking about getting a cold air intake for my max cause my friend with a 2001 eclipse got one and also with an rx-8 just got a k&n cai. the K&N filter is the biggest freaken filter i ever seen in my life. plus his intake is louder than his exhaust which is scary. anyways, i emailed the guys at ebay who sell the BOMZ CAI and others like it and they said it doesn't sit behind the radiator like INJEN, but like cattman and place racing. So thats like an extra $100 i'll be saving if i get it. but did anybody already get this and installed it???

yeah ebay CAI are true CAI, you have to cut a hole to fit it, also get a k&n filter to replace the sh!tty little filter that comes with the ebay cai, then you would be all set

dude $40 isnt bad at all my oem drop-in k&n replacement filter for my 02 accord was $50, also the genuine nismo filter are more expensive, and the ones on ebay are fake. its your money, but the k&n filter will help your engine breathe alittle better than the ebay cone filter

1) its not real carbon fiber, jsut the carbon fiber print

2) its not nismo

3) its the same type of generic filter as the one in most of the ebay CAI

i hear you, jsut get something like this :

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...949074214&rd=1

and use it and when funds are more avaliable then buy the k&n filter, you dont have to buy it all at once, also using your stock mid pipe will make you engine breathe even better,

this gets asked so much it should be a sticky.

the ebay inakes ar the exact same design as the name brand one but the filters are alot smaller.

There is replicas of the injen intake and the place racing style. Just slap on a new filter.

you must suck at modding how does it not fit?

take off stock intake up to stock mid pipe

put on maf sensor

test fit the rest of the cai pipping

mark where you have to cut

cut hole

run through hole

attach filter

there is no way a cai is goign to "not fit", you can however drill the hole in the wrong location

haa, yeh i thought about an INJEN, but its really a warm air intake cause it sucks up all the hot air from the radiator so i dropped that. i'm might get a BOMZ cai, $32 + 18 for shippin and hand. and i mean it looks close to the one you showed me good head
but the piping looks slightly diff. bomz looks more like an s and that other one called "newbie"? looks like a C or weird L shaped.

Your going to spend 50 for an intake from ebay then buy a filter for 40 thats 90 dollars.
The group buy is for 130 They come with better couplers and an aluminum maf adpter. They are out of 97-99 but you could always get a 95-96 and cover the hole for intake temp sensor.

THIS COMING SUNDAY, i will buy the stupid intake as well as $32.92 worth of LED bulbs off of superbrightleds.com. i really don't need them but my color scheme is blue so i wanna u know change them all out. i found a new addiction and cannot help myself...

You must have gotten a decent one. The one i bought had a plastic maf adapter and cheaper couplings.I am more than satisfied with my place racing other than the thicker metal making it heavier than the knock off.

Goodhead, why so quick to flame people before asking any questions about what was wrong, talk about immature. Of course i took the entire stock intake out The peice from the maf to the hole was too long of a fit and the resonator part between the tb and the maf was much too big to secure around the tb it needed duct tape (no matter how hard you could fasten it.) I'm sure it was a manufacturing flaw or something but i was very unsatisfied of course! I was just asking of any links some people may know or an ebay seller that people have had a good expereience with, thats all. Thanks for acting like such a ****.

Edit :: Didn't come with everything included in the picture when it said specifically on the site everything pictured would be included!
