Anyone else have cruise control problems?
#1
I've got a 96 SE. Occasionally, when I'm cruising along aroun 75 mph, the car will seem to accelerate than let off the gas, then acc, then let off, etc. It doesn't happen all the time, so I'm wondering if small hills make overcompensate or something, but I've never felt a cruise control do this before. It isn't a problem (I don't think), just feels kind of weird. Anyone else notice this?

Long time ago I found my 96 GXE auto did the same when cruise control was set on. It was not so abrupt but I could feel it on and off randomly. Recently I found it less and less noticable.
By the way my 94 Altima's cruise control has always been much smoother than my Maxima's since day one. My Altima's cruise control never let me feel when it's on or off, no matter cruising on smooth hiway or on a small up and down surface, or on a not so deep ramp-up. I don't know why the difference. I guess Nissan uses the same circuitry for those cars. some other factors?
One time I got a rental car, maybe a Ford Tempo or the like. Its cruise control was definitely working like "on" and "off", very unconfortable. Sorry for the side track.
