Hi guys. I wanted to eliminate the stock light bulb look and I want something cheap (under $50) that will get me that H.I.D. look-alike. Now I know HID is HID and there's no replacement, but what bulbs would you recommend?

I would like something intense, like hyper white or hyper blue or something alike. What do you think of those? These are the XB, not the DP.

or the Farenheit super white:

I've heard good things about both of these and that they yield this closest-to-HID-look. Any other suggestions are welcome.

my brother using eurolite bulbs in his 03 protege and they give out a nice white light with a slight blue tint.....only thing that sucks about those bulbs is that they tend to go out after about a year

Just go to Best Buy and get the 80/100.Forgot what brand but have them on for a few weeks now and they are pretty nice.Wire harness hasn't fried yet.Looks to be safe.Or just get the Super Blue from Wal*Mart.Cheaper by a $1 at Best buy with higher wattage.

either way, I guess I'll just buy the ones from ebay. Even if I do have to change them every year, it's no big deal since they're only $14.

don't waste ur time buying bulbs on line. circuit city might have the eurolites but a lot of people complain about the bulbs life expectancy. also advance auto, auto zone, and pep boys have plenty. check the temperature to, the higher the k, the more diff color output u get but not like Hid of course

eurolites have stock wattage, but are teh suck. If you want an "HID" look a like, get a set of nokya's and upgraded wiring harness from southwestautoworks.

The ones from Best Buy are surprisingly pretty good, Redline makes them I believe. MTEC bulbs are also very good. 80/100 watt so don't forget to upgrade your harnesses, try Nokya Harnesses. Inexpensive and they work great with minimal use of high beams.

You missed the point guys. I guess I should've mentioned that I want stock replacement bulbs. I hate modifying my car in the winter, don't ask why, I just do. I went ahead and got these, at only $14 I don't care if they go after a year.

Many of you say "get these instead...all you have to do is this and that and modify the harness etc.". That's exactly why I don't want to get them. Nothing personal, just letting you guys know what I want. Thanks

but dont expect the lights to look much like what you're expecting. You may have completely different taste than what other people like. If you want to do it right and get bulbs that make a real lighting difference, go for higher wattage bulbs and harnesses, its not that hard to install them, and they will be MUCH brighter on the road than the typical 45/65 or 55/65 watt bulbs. Plus you lose some night time and rain visibility with these hid-look-alike bulbs so be aware of that.
