Unique problem w/ 96 Maxima SE

Hey Folks,
My problem started 6 months ago when I had my tranny replaced. The reason I had to have it replaced was that my clutch had gone out. The guy that replaced the clutch didn't properly replace the transmission fluid plug. So three months latter my trans was history. The same guy agreed to replace the tranny but after I got it back the check engine light came on. I got the code checked and it comes up as P0705 Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction (PRNDL Input). Gennerally this code pertains to an aouto transmission, I think. I have a 5 speed. So what the heck is a Tranmsision Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction and how much can I expect to pay?

The other problem is the guy that replaced the tranny isn't taking any responsibility for the problem.

Thanks for any input.

Sounds like youve got the wrong ECU...
I'd definitely fight for my right to get that fawker to fix the problem. Take him to Judge Judy...

I've never heard of the code youre throwing, how does it run? What is it like when you haul azz, and when you downshift?

At low rpm it has a very low rumbling sound almost like a diesel. Iv'e been going pretty easy on it. It still moves when I punch it though. The guy that fixed it is in Florida an I'm in Nashville. Which is another problem, taking the time to take his slack *** to court.

I've recieved that code from three separate places, 2 repair shops and the state vehicle inspection office that you got to to get your emmissions tested. The code is always the same. I'm just trying to figure out if they're going to have to pull the tranny to fix it. That's $400 to start.
