Rebuild tranny with Semi BulletProof or buy new tranny with 0 miles?

I'm on the quest for ultimate reliability in terms of my tranny after I get the hybrid swap. I'm not going to be putting down more than 260-280WHP so I'm looking for a tranny that will hold up and not give me problems. I can get a tranny rebuilt that's semi bullet proof with stage II VB new internals basically a new tranny that's stronger than the stock one for a fairly good price. Or... I can search for a new tranny that has very very low or no miles on it but I'm afraid after time that will break down because it is obviously a stock tranny, with stock internals. So I'm asking you guys for your opinions what would you recommend? Keep in mind, the price is pretty much the same for a new tranny installed, or for a built tranny... or almost the same.

Depending on the price difference between rebuilt-better/stock trannies, I wouldn't see any reason to not go with the rebuilt tranny. You'd probably get a certain warantee also.

edit: just reread and saw there virtually was no price difference, so my vote's for the rebuilt one

I would think if you're going for boost or however you are planning on acheiving those numbers, the built tranny would be the best idea. For the same price, it seems like a better deal to have just for safety's sake

With Boost a stock auto tranny will no hold the power even with no miles...get the built tranny so later on, you wont have anything holding back when you decide to turn the boost up cause I garentee you will want to

well, if it's for nitrous, jime ran a 12.9 with stock auto tranny....so that should give you an idea of how well it holds up. I rebuilt my tranny, so it's basically new, and i'm getting the mobiltek stage 2 vb and doing the drop reisistor mod. Maybe even install a high stall torque converter. That should let it hold up to whatever you throw at it. But it is an auto tranny, so don't get on it all the time.....floor it sparingly.

Well I will be all motor like I said hybrid motor so I will not be going F/I.. Ever.. because of the high compression.. 11.5:1.. I guess I'll go with the built route then.
