It's more of a safety thing. It increases the cooling cpacity of your system. Whether you call it a performance enhancement is up to you.

I was just wondering because I need a new cap, so I'll probably upgrade.

It does increase the boiling point. It doesn't add any HP that's for sure.

I installed a 16psi cap. Definitely feeling more power in the upper RPM range from it.

you should have gone with the 18psi cap. i feel an increase throughout the entire power band, especially at 3000rpm there is a surge in power.

Same place for me, I changed radiator/cap and it still didnt go down :\ lol
Maybe it helps, unnoticeable, without a digital temp guage.

The temp gauge wont move even if the coolant temp varies up to 50 degreees within the "normal" range.

ahhh gotcha. Thanks guys. If i noticed a decline in the gauge, i probably would do it. You guys ever use water wetter? Great stuff. I made my guage move down in my 89 Prelude, but didn't do anything to the Maxima

The temp won't drop. That's controlled by the thermostat.
