Lowering a seat in the 99ES
Just curious if anybody knows how easy/hard it would be to get the power seat lowered on a 99ES? Is it a minor adjustment or a major overhaul?
I am a taller individual (6'4") and I had a 97GXE that had a lower seat so I had no problems getting in/out, seeing through the windshield, etc. With the 99, I practically have to squeeze my legs under the steering wheel and slouch a bit to see out the windshield. I don't need much, maybe 1/2 inch or so.
Input is much appreciated.

Hmm, I'm 6'0" and the power seat at its lowest setting is just about right, but I wonder if the optimal position is just a little lower. I do have a sunroof, does that seriously make the inside ceiling 4" lower???

I'm 6'5" and sometimes it's a tight fit (I have a sunroof). I always keep the seat all the way back and as low as it goes (there is motorized veritcal seat adjustment). If I was any bigger I'd definetly move the seat back a little bit, unbolting and trying to move the seat rails. I never took the seats out though so I don't know if that would work.
Just be really careful when you close your sunroof in the summer. Especially if your hair is on the longer side.

6'6" here as well and the max fit me the best, however I do have the power seat so I am not sure if that helps. However if anyone does know how to drop the seat, maybe move it back a bit it would be awesome.

Are you sure you lowerd it all the way?, My 6'4 friend has no problem, he always complements on the room. Try puting the seat back all the way, instead of lowering it, Dave what springs are your talking about, the ones in the bottom of the seat. if you take those out then the seat will sink in. If anything you could get custom rails made. those add like a couple inches.

I do not have the sunroof. Headroom is not an issue. The problem is being a bit too high to have a clear view without having to slouch a bit (I drive a lot so it can get a bit uncomfortable).
I have the seat as far down and back as it will go. I can tilt the seatback a bit but too far and I'm reaching for the wheel. I'm not sure if it is the style of seat in this model as my old seats fit quite nicely.
Anyway, I'll hopefully get a chance to drop by the dealer in the next couple of days and ask the question.

Dropped into the dealer today to ask the qustion. Their response was that it couldn't be done due to safety regulations. Basically has to do with how the airbags are aimed/adjusted, etc.
I don't buy it. I can adjust the seat and I can adjust the steering wheel. Plus, I would assume that if it was set up as described, the standard range would be set for average height people, which I don't apply.
