Stone Racing Headers

Stone Racing Headers
I recently purchased stone racing headers for my 98 after confirmation of the high horsepower and torque gains. I then attempted to install it myself, although all I managed to do was break a few bolts and remove my heatshields. My problem was that I couldn't disconect the stock Y-pipe from the resonater (it was too rusted) So I took it to a local performance shop, and they said that they would have to remove the engine just to remove the rear exhaust manifold. I think this may be because the just don't want to fight with the limited room of a 6 cylinder engine (comparatively to a four) but I was wondering if it can be done without removing the engine. Any help would be appreciated.

when i got my headers installed i they had to jack my engine out to get to the back but its not as bad as you think they jack it out take it off pop in on and reconnect all your wires and thats it.I deff wouldent try to do that my self unless i had power tools and a lift.
but stone racing headers why would you go for those i heard there crap and theres no real gains but 2 each his own

I've decided I'm just going to put on the y-pipe and say f*ck the headers. I was wondering how much horsepower I could expect to lose from that. And in reply to why I went with stone racing. They have good dynos, and I have seen dynos from people not affiliated with the company and was surprised. Besides I got both the headers and the y-pipe for $281 shipped.
