Got a question.

Hey everyone. I just got a 99 i30 limited (which replaced my 95 GLE...i've actually had this account for a while but just activated it now), and i have a question. I posted in the i30 forums but i wanted to post here too just to get some more opinions. When i come to a stop at a light, the engine kind of goes 'thud' (sounds and feels like a very hard shift, but i'm not moving) and this happens a couple of times in a row, along with a little drop in rpm. Now since it's a 99 would guess it's the beautiful coil pack misfire problem, but i dont really know what a misfire is supposed to feel like (but im guessing it's like what i described). I dont have a MIL on yet, so there's no way to find out if it really is the problem and pinpoint a cylinder. Since it doesnt happen all the time (maybe 7-8 times each time i come to a stop) could i still test them with a multimeter, or would i be better off replacing them all with good ones (possibly through the GD if that ever happens) b/c they'll go bad eventually? Well thanks for reading, im sure i'll learn a ton about my car on these forums...
