DO NOT DO IT YOURSELF IF YOU DONT HAVE THE EXPERIENCE!!!!!

I got my viper 791, which if you are only looking for remote start, is overkill, $250 plus $250 installtion. If you can find a Circuit City that will do, $130 but very sloppy job.

Yea, DEF let someone install if youve never installed one before, involves cutting into wires essential for vehicle operation

Install is a snap. Give yourself a weekend (3days) if it's your first time; 1day if you've done an install before. But with the info available online, you shouldn't have any problems. Look for DEI's cheatsheet. Verify using other alarm company cheatsheets (pm me if you want some leads). Those will tell you where every wire needs to be attached. There's a 5th gen writeup that you can also use as a guide. Almost a no-brainer.

Make sure you get your "starter" and "accessory" correct. Pearl96Max can help you with that if you need.

If you need practice, the accord, civic, and element I've worked on are very very simple. Do one for a friend and learn. You can do a basic alarm install in an hour even if it's your 1st time.

hey man, it really isn't that hard. I did on on my max when i was 16. If you can splice wires and read a diagram you can do it. good luck. Sam
