I bought a 95 GLE two weeks ago from a friend. When unlocking my doors with my remote I accidentally hit the unlock button a third time and my two front windows rolled down. Just thought their might be others that didn't know this little trick.

If you have black leather and live somewhere the sun shines, you will really come to appreciate this feature. Believe me.

Really? I have a 97 GLE and think I have hit it more than twice and my windows have never rolled down. Does this work for everyone??

Re: this feature

I think so...just keep holding the unlock button and they will go down...should be in your owners manual.

Yup, works for me. Its a cool feature, people are always like....wow

You can make them go all the way down or only as much as you want.

Just press the unlock botton and hold it. This will roll down the front windows until you let go of the unlock button. Now if someone could just figure how to roll them back up.

Love it

I use this feature every day, granted its not raining. I absolutely love it.

And what a great idea, we have to be able to figure out how to roll them back up. My g/f has a VW Cabrio and she can roll her windows up or down with the key in the drivers door lock. Lets start brainstorming!!!!

reprogrammed remote

I was wondering if anyone can answer this for me. I lost one of my remotes--and still have the other. But if I were to reprogram a new remote, this function will still work for the new remote, correct?
is there anything else in addition to the programming instruction that one ought to know?

thanks,

=) Brian

Is it true that I cant add factory keyless pack if my car didnt come with it. I was told that I had to go aftermarket.

why would you want to go OEM anyways? It'll cost you an arm and a leg and it's not that great of a security system anyways...

Go aftermarket... think Clifford of Viper... or Alpine, but they are WAY expensive.

A funny thing is that whenever I roll down my front windows with my remote control as I am walking to my car, my passengers ask me if I had left my windows open. Haha..

Yeah, not too many cars in the Maxima's price class have remote control windows. Well, I know VW has it (up and down too!), but I don't think Camry and Accord have it.

I like the power trunk too.

Yea, but with the VW, you have to be at the door already and use your key...so whats the point? The remote windows on the Maxima are usefull though.

wayne's ?

Hey wayne, if you go on ebay you could probably get a keyless entry thing for like 20 bucks. Ebay is wonderful.

Your only talking about the actual remote keypad. Wayne is looking for the entire assembly, relays, control unit, accutators, etc (This is what you need if your car didn't come with the factory option)

Wayne, you might want to look into crutchfield. They have inexpensive alarm systems that plug into factory wiring. Not sure how good they are and what functionality, but it's worth a look.
