i know you got this question a lot when you put the 2k in your max a while back before the 3.5. why bother putting in the whole 2k max engine when you get the same gain from just swapping on the VI to the 4th gen vq?

and nice job. how many parts cars you got sitting around now vasilil? hehehe

Why didn't you swap another VQ35 instead?

Man you are really making VQ swapping a cottage industry. Must be getting very good at it. Will you be using the 4th gen ECU?

I've seen an article from Nissan claiming "over 40 different internal components have been changed". I've never seen that claim backed up with a list though, so who knows.

the reason a vq35 isnt going in is because the 2k engine has really low miles and the old engine was too old and no point in selling itcause it would be too cheap so the best thing was to swap it in and plus my bor has the VI that he is going to put on the engine. And yes he is going to be using the stock ecu.

as far as updates, the swap is progressing.

The old engine looks new, it was too old? How old is too old? You say you're putting a VI on it, umm, how else were you going to run it, as the 2k+ US models all had stock Vi's.

yeah we didnt use a engine crane. we just lowered the car all the wya to the ground so that the engine would sit on the skateboards, removed the mounts, and raised the car high enoguh that the engine would slide out.

^^^^Cool, thats a pretty good idea. How high exactly did you have to jack the car up? And also how did you unbolt the engine beam when the car is all the way down? OR were they already unbolted, just the 2 side mounts were holding the engine.... Where did you place the jacks to lower the car?

And also, from start to finish, how long did it take? (Assuming you have everything ready to install)

well we done have evrythign ready to install yet but usually 1-2 weeks downtime workign in the evenings and saturdays.

the cneter beam unblot thsoe the 4 bolts but before that support the engine cause the engien and tranny mounts will hold te engine but who knows fo how long cause of the weight. jacks were placed on the sides of the car and the jacks lift the car high enoguh to rol lthe engine out. if not just remove the IM and you will have alto of room.
