Replacing the clock = Ripoff!

has anyone done this? how easy is it? mine recently went out and i took it to a dealer to see what they said and $400 later they said i could have a new clock... ouch. they claimed that would have to replace then entire panel etc. i think its a joke. any help would be greatly appricated.

look around on ebay. i got a replacement for mine. the clock actually pops out of the top vent panel...which comes out if you pull on it. just becareful not to crack anything cuz u know how everything on our cars are made out of plastic

I got a new clock at the boneyard, for free O_O

Take out the vent, theres 2 screws holding the clock in..

I guess there special screws because they take $199abor each.. lol.. and $2 for the clock.

Nah this doesn't surprise me they said it was $300-400 for the 3rd gen clock when it went out. Took me 20 minutes of resoldering old connections and it worked like new. Stupid electrical joints breaking in that car.

Yep. This is one of those insanely expensive parts to get new. Not sure why.
Back when I was looking for a replacement the cheapest I could find from a dealer was around $250. Totally crazy for just a clock.

I bought 2 used ones for $30 instead. They're really easy to replace.

... 400$... mine started to go on and off.. so i openend it up turned out the solder on the board was loose.. so i re did it and like new..

yea, i went to the dealer cuz the clock was bad few months ago. for a new one they told me $220. man, i thought that they looked at the decimal point wrong or sumting, but they didn't sadly -_-

then i went to the junk yard, i took it off myself quickly and it was only $25...much better than the $220 straight from nissan.

it's not hard to set... just play with the hour and min buttons...

It is the simplest clock to set ever. Two buttons. If you can't figure it out someone needs to cut up your liscense cause your a danger to us all.
