I know that you want the idle to be around 600-800 give or take, but is that at initial startup or after warmed up? I ask because I have a 99 SE A/T, and when I first start the car, it stays around 1500 for approx 3-5 seconds, then slowly goes down to about 1000. Once I begin to drive, it then settles down to the 700-800 range. From my explanation, does that sound normal? It hasn't caused any issues or anything, but I just want to be safe. Thanks!

Thats normal. a 600-800 idle is for a fully warmed car. When you first start up a car that is cold your idle will be higher in order to get engine up to operating temperature.

alright, i figured that, but just wanted be sure. i know there's been a lot of people on here recently talking about a high idle and various problems that are causing it. thank you mdeezy
