On my roadtrip this weekend I noticed that my steering wheel and my car start to vibrate at about 80mph. I don't remember it ever doing that. You think it might be time for new shocks? Could it be the timing chain. I have no clue why it's vibrating so much. If you have any insights to share I'd appreciate it.

Check your tire pressure, if you want a nicer smoother ride lowe the PSI to the standard 29 (depending on your wheel package). Also, I had teh same problem, and alignment did it! Do a free alignment check, and if its bad, thats your problem. i dont think its shocks or springs, usually =the shaking isnt suspension.
gluck!

The usual symptom of a bad timing chain is an unpleasant rattle or clatter sound from the engine, most noticeable on first starting. Your symptoms are more likely to come from tires which are out of balance or out of round.

Make sure the mechanic uses an criss-cross pattern when putting your lugs back on. I had my tires balanced and I was still getting vibration. When I went to rotate my tires, I couldn't get the front-left tire off. I literally had to kick the tire off of the hub. The knucklehead used an impact wrench and also didn't use a criss-cross pattern which locked the wheel onto the hub unevenly.
