i have seen a few SE's running around that have like a black chrome "MAXIMA" trunk emblem. mine is just chrome and i was wondering if there was anything i could do to achieve this black chrome effect.

some people have taken it off and used a few coats of nightshades to tint it from what i understand

if i take it off and paint it, how hard is it to put back on? I know gettin the glue off the car from behind the Nissan logo and GLE was a b!tch- so is there an easier way

If i do paint/ tint- any suggestions on what to use

don't some SE-L's have a titanium finish to their emblems as well? You could just paint them. to make any emblem job easier, have a blowdryer nearby, warm it up. I was an idiot and used a hose with cold water and my fingernails. that was the worst 3 hours of my life. before painting, make sure to prep it right and definitely get some clearcoat on there too.

use painters tape as a guide to align the letters before you take it off. to take it off, use a hair dryer to melt it off the glue. paint using a glossy type. then use i guess black silicone adhesive to glue it back on; using the painters tape you put on earlier as a guide.

I have the 5th gen Black Chrome emblems on my front doors bought them from my dealer $15.00 each and I painted my stock trunk emblem gloss black...
