The 3.5 swap is going to cost you at least $2500-3000 no matter which way you do it. The 3.5 with 3.0 heads is the cheapest but the heads don't flow or cool as well and the VIM is supposed to be better than the 00-01 -k VIM. The full 3.5 engine with 3.0 ECU and wiring harness gives better but doesn't have VTC (rumored to not be a big deal). The Full 3.5 swap with ECU, wiring harness, drive by wire, etc. is not for the faint of heart and will be considerable money and work for just VTC.
The 6 speed is not what I would consider bolt on. The cable shift as opposed to the beam that we have is not easy to convert. Also I think the 6 speed is bigger and difficult to fit in out engine bay. From what I have heard those very few (~1-3 people at most) who have done it said is was not worth the hassle and money.
Going SC will probably be cheaper and easier if you are looking for something to get good gains. Turbo will be more expensive but will make the car faster without considerable mods.
Look in the all motor forums. I know Tilley will build you a VQ35 ready to be dropped in. Some other people will probably do it too. Your first post or mod should not involve an engine swap, this is not a honda. The VQ30 is a very good engine and will most of the time handle boost better than the VQ35. Although the VQ35 will be better all motor.
