E-Brake Cable Freezing Up

E-Brake Cable Freezing Up
lately, my e-brake cable seems to "freeze" up. when i let the e-brake off i can feel it release to a point (as the handle goes down), the it just becomes totally free with no resistance (until it bottoms out).
when i pull it back up, once again there is no "resistance" for a bit, then there is resistance.
when this happens, i can fee the e-brakes sticking in the back.
if i let the car warm up (i.e. heat from exhaust system heats up the cable) the e-brake "thaws".
anyone had this happen before? how'd you fix it?
i was thinking about shooting some WD-40 back into the cable to drive out the water that could be in there and freezing to the cable...
dunno...

if you look behind your rear rotors you will see the e-brake cable and where its attached to the body. Usually what happens on 4th gens is when you take your car for service and the mechanic uses a scissor lift to get your car up they wind up pinching the line causeing it to rust out after some time. Mine unfortunatly was crushed way back but not to the point that it freezes all the time on me, only on very cold days will it freeze up. I just patched it with electircal tape and sprayed alot of WD40 into the line to keep things moving for a while.

mine did that to me, i brought it to my friend ray who's a mechanic and he sprayed it with some de-greaser stuff, it ended up freezing again, so im just going to wait till spring then take a serious look at my e-break line with my autos class teacher
