had a good idea for some of the project oriented people in here.. i know some of you guys are electronics freaks so this might be a pretty simple thing to do, and i think would defianetly stand to make some money.
come up with some kind of system to enable the driver to adjust his/her adjustable struts without having to leave the driver seat. mabye a servo system, or a few rotary type switches that can be mounted above or near the adjustment ***** for say a set of tokico illuminas. you can have it controled by a small master switch type brain or box that can mount under the dash, or even in the dash that can also give a digital display of what setting the struts are currently in, and a way to just hit a button to adjust them to a softer or stiffer setting on the fly. mabye even adjust the front/rear independtly with a seperate display for each. just a thought, cause i know if get adjustable struts, id love to be able to just hit a switch to make them stiffer when i get onto the highway, and softer as soon as i get off without having to pull over, stop, and get out every time i got on or off.. anyone else agree??

this is a good idea. i used to be into 4wheeling and i know rancho has a product like that, it sits in your cab and you can adjust the front and rear seperately.

some one has got to come up this for illumina set-up... i bet tokico would even work with someone to design this. i would persue this further but i have no enegry. too many other things going on, so ill give it away..
uhh.
it's been done before.
actually it was stock on a car in the 80s. no super car either. only availible in europe tho =[
also the cost would be outrageous for an aftermarket company to do this for the 4th gen maxima. you'll see it on civics long before you'd ever see it on a 4th gen.
nice idea tho.
just not original.

he never said it was new to the automotive industry, but it most certainly is new to 4th gen maxs (thats what forum we're in too!) i personally wouldnt mind having that option, but im going with d2 coilovers, so it would have to be different. 36way adjustable, not just 5. in anycase, good idea, and maybe someone will make some.
i bet there could be a way to modify the motors from that tein set up to work with our cars. i would imagine the only reason they wouldnt fit rite on, it just clearence issues for the fronts with the hood closed. they look like they mount above the strut, so i would say the backs would be fine, just an issue with the fronts. i wonder if you could mount those motors next to the strut bolts on the top of the wheel well up front, and have some kind of gear or friction wheel on the motor to turn the adjustment ****. control box wouldnt work with the illumina's though. it says the teins are 16/32 way adjustable

If i remember correctly my 88 supra turbo came with an options called "TEMS" im pretty sure it toggles the suspension to be more sporty or softer...not 100 percent sure though as i was 16 and didnt know jack about cars when i had it.
While it is a good idea, going through all that trouble to develop something that could be cured by not being lazy isnt going to fly. That and most people will never touch the dials again when they find the right suspension setting.
