Curious what Maxima people think

Just curious as to what people think of this car if it seems worth the price. I know not much can be told from the page but if anyone sees something that might be a problem with the car.

looks like its in nice shape, but for that price range i would definately look for one with a leather interior.. i dont undertand why some guys dont spring the extra $$ for the leather intertior. its something you WILL appreciate everytime you get in the car..

You should go check it out, the price is higher than you would normally find.

Just spend much less on the car and then spend like $600 for a full leather interior in colors that you like, and it would be brand new instead of having an imprint of someone elses ***

It def looks like it's been dropped, and it's got aftermarket wheels too.
Climaxxx: I wonder what has been done to the car, maybe call and find out?

Yea, it Def looks dropped, and it has a strut bar! haha, so it looks like someone upgraded to a new car, and put everything back to stock except the suspension and strut bar. lol

ok guys, you are comparing the car with a 96 maxima. of course its gonna be more expensive to buy a car that is 3 years newer. And if you found a 5.5 gen for 12k, congradulations your getting one hell of a deal, but just for fun lets look at it this way, 3 year diff between a 96 and 99, and there is a 4k diff in asking price, there is a 4 year diff between 99 and 2k3, and there is a 3k diff. of course the newer car is gonna have less miles. and hell if you lived up by me, i would buy your 96 with only 40k miles! lol but yea, you will prob be able to get that price lowered.

looks like someone lowered it and put on a strut bar.

The rims suck. It's a stealership too.

But I like the color and it looks clean.

Here's what I would do if I were you: I'd tell the guy i'll pay him 7000. He's going to have a hard time selling a stick maxima. If he says no, walk out. You can find a better car for less money.

Tell him $7000 but you will finance through the dealer. They usually get a premium when they finance. 400-500 bucks up front plus a percentage of each payment.

You finance through the dealer. Make sure there is no pre-payment penalty. Take the car home. in 90 days, pay it off in full.

The dealer financing incentive would make it seem worthwhile for them. My mom taught me this when she bought her caravan. Little do they know you're going to eff them in the end.

Peace

Dpes the car have a sunroof? I can't see where it states that in the options. No leather is one strike against the car - no sunroof forgedaboudit, lol! Also as others have said the mileage is up there.

Do a car fax, have them check the struts since the car is dropped, if they're blown let the dealer replace them, other than that the car looks good.

Test Drove Today

Hey Guys, I test drove the car today and it runs like a dream. Yeah, I am a bit worried about the lowering though. We left the dealership with a price of $8,500. They told us that it's gonna be gone soon but I knew better having seen it advertised on the internet for 2+ months! Anyway, we wanted $8,250, we put them on ice and want to see if they call back in a couple days. They tried every trick in the book on us, like telling us that they'll wave the $199 plate fee, give me a break, it costs like $10 for those plates! Regardless, I'll keep yallz posted. Thanks for making my 1st post on the site a welcoming one!

Dumb question

Sorry guys, I'm new to cars but plan on learning all I can about them. What exactly is a strut bar and what does that mean for the car? Thanks!

Make sure that if the car is lowered, the guy used lowering springs and didnt simply cut the stock springs.
